Make a quick sketch of a Goldfinch with the Castell 9000 Graphite 2B Pencil.
Dilute a couple of light-yellow shades of the Connector Paints with water and quickly fill the yellow parts of the bird. The quicker you move, the softer the look which is important in painting birds and other soft creatures.
Fill in the black parts next. Mix blue and purple with black to keep it from looking too harsh.
Create a soft background using blue and green Connector Paints with a lot of water and allow for natural blending.
Add some field notes at the bottom with Pitt Artist Pens and a little brown Connector paint. You can use a date stamp or just write the date with a pen to finish.
I hope you enjoyed today’s Goldfinch tutorial. Look around for winged creatures and take time to draw them.
